Our rug washing procedure:

Pre-Inspection

Our certified technicians will conduct a thorough inspection to determine the age, type and fiber composition of your rug. Following which the rug will be inspected for any Pre-existing issues such as pile reversal, pet urine issues, and general damage.

Intensive Dusting

The rug will be hand-fed into our Automatic Rug Badger, a machine that gently beats the back of the rug using the power of over 40,000 harmonic vibrations a minute to separate the dry soil, pet dander, dust, and water-insoluble soil is removed.

Colourfastness Test

Testing for colourfastness is an essential step before the cleaning process.Rugs are inspected and tested with a custom formulated solution to ensure the rug dye pockets and fibers are set to prevent rug bleeding, rug fading or change colour.

Pre–Condition and Spot Treatment

Rugs are Pre-treated using custom solutions to emulsify the soils and stains – stains are classified according to type and age and treated accordingly. Pet urine stains are detected using Blue light technology and pre-treated to ensure complete removal.

Immersive Cleaning

For heavily soiled rugs or urine stained rugs, The process begins with complete immersion of the rug into a washing pit filled with water and mild customized cleaning agents. If the rug has pet urine stains and odour, a neutralizing solution will be added to the rug bath to eliminate bacteria.

Rotary Shampooing

Following the immersive cleaning – the rug is hand-fed into our State of the art automatic rug cleaning machine. The rotating soft brushes and bristles are adjusted to the type of rug fibers. This ensures your rugs receive the most thorough cleaning system available in today’s market.

Rinsing

Followed by the thorough shampoo process, our purified jets of water and customized solution rinse away the excess shampoo followed by the squeegee and vacuum process to remove excess water from the base of the rugs.

Rug Wringer

The rug wringer is a rapidly rotating state of the art machine that uses centrifugal forces to remove 96% excess water content from your rugs. The step is crucial as it eliminates the problems that come with slow drying of a rug such as browning and foul odour.

Drying

The rug is carefully placed on our custom drying racks in a temperature and humidity controlled room to ensure thorough drying from the base to the tip of the rug and prevent issues such as odours, mould and mildew growth.
